A Tribute from company owner Larry Williams

Of the many DJs who have successfully made a name for themselves within our business, none have come near the achievements or risen to the heights of public acceptance like Dick Clark.  To those of us who pride ourselves in achieving the utmost professionalism in our careers, there is simply no other disc jockey who more greatly personifies what a professional DJ is all about.

Dick Clark is, without a doubt, the greatest disc jockey of all time!  Since the early fifties he has single-handedly sculpted the art of professional disc jockey entertainment.  He has set a standard of appropriate and professional behavior that never waivers, tarnishes or goes 'out-of-style'.  He has quite simply raised-the-bar so high that his legend could never be rivaled.

In a day and age where many DJs become the "flavor-of-the-month" for their shock value or inappropriate behavior . . . I hope that our clients will find it refreshing to know that we are committed to supplying DJ entertainment in the style and fashion of those before us, such as Dick Clark, who have paved the way and left an indelible mark on the professional DJ industry.

My Personal Story - In 1995, I was fortunate enough to become friends with members of Dick's immediate family.  This friendship has blossomed over the years and continues to this day.  I first met Dick and his charming wife Kari in 1996.  It wasn't long before a treasured in-person and written correspondence developed.  

I have spoken with Dick on several occasions and have happily received many letters from him as well.  While some offer 'well wishes' and 'congratulations' for achievements within the DJ industry, I am most proud to have also received letters that are more personal in nature.   (Note:  All of these treasured correspondences are on display in our offices!)

"The Call" Every DJ Dreams Of - Most recently, this friendship led to an incredible honor that could only be described as a DJs "dream come true".  On Friday June 20th, 2003 my wife Selly and I were honored to be among the invited guests present for the wedding of Dick's brother-in-law.  I was asked if I would personally handle the musical responsibilities for the event.  

The celebration was an intimate though typical family gathering of only a few dozen people in attendance.  It included all of the traditional wedding related activities and announcements.  It took place in a park-like setting adorned by a beautiful indoor rustic looking pavilion with outdoor ball playing, horseshoe throwing, and barbequed lunch.  It was an incredible day that lasting well into the evening!  It was especially enjoyable to see Dick with his young nephews, his mother-in-law and close immediate family.   The evening progressed smoothly and was highlighted by a surprise toasting and introduction 'on the microphone' by Dick himself.  Shortly thereafter he even shared a dance with his wife Kari to my own personal surprise and enjoyment.  To be included within this intimate setting of close family and friends was an unbelievably rewarding experience that I will never forget.  (Note:  Video tape from this incredible evening can be viewed at our offices.)

The level of trust placed upon me by the members of Dick Clark's family was an honor above measure.  I never lose sight of how extremely fortunate I was that day to be placed within that environment.  I am probably the most grateful disc jockey on the planet!  Not star-struck, but honored!  Honored to be accepted, acknowledged and complimented by the greatest disc jockey of all time!!!
